The Modernist movement has always been about looking forward, ensuring that its finest works exude a timeless elegance. Studio Bookmark’s first collection of hand-cast brass and bronze architectural hardware pays homage to modernist sculptors who shaped modern art and design.
Inspired by a visit to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, specifically Sophie Taeuber-Arp’s desk designed for Ernest Rott’s Paris apartment c. 1929, we were captivated by the elegant and playful post and ball knobs. These knobs inspired our ‘Sculptor Series’ - a collection of handcrafted modern hardware merging form and function, meticulously crafted in our Austin workshop using sandcasting and finishing methods inspired by art casting foundries and bronze sculpture.
